Summer Vibes

My mother's time is spring and summer, while my husband's time is autumn and winter. What is left for me? Persephone spends half of the year underground with her husband, the king of the dead, and the other half on earth with her mother, the goddess of the harvest. This has been the way of things for nine thousand years, ever since the deal was made. However, something is different as she emerges this spring.

The rains are fierce, crops are failing, and people are attempting to build a road through the woods with no regard for the land. Even her mother seems powerless to stop them. The world is changing rapidly, with the gods losing control. As Demeter struggles to regain her strength and resist her daughter's husband, who wants to keep her underground forever, Persephone finds a newfound freedom by joining a group of protestors.

Accustomed to observing the world from below, Persephone experiences a new perspective from the treetops alongside activist Snow. She realizes that she has the power to make choices for herself. But what will these choices mean for her mother, her husband, and the life growing within her?

"No Season but the Summer" reimagines a classic myth, exploring what happens when our oldest stories no longer hold true and the rules have shifted. It is, at its core, a story about the power of choice.
